Melissa D’Agostino

Short Bio
Actor, writer and producer Melissa D’Agostino has been called “outrageously funny” (NOW Magazine), “A standout” (NOW Magazine) and “hilarious” (EYE Magazine). Melissa is a Toronto-based interdisciplinary artist and a graduate of the BFA Acting program at the University of Windsor. Past productions include: Mambo Italiano (Sudbury Theatre Centre), Vox Animae (Young Centre) The Maddest Kind of Love (Dreamers Take Your Mark Productions), Downtown (The Question Company), Innana (tiny bird theatre), and In Translation (Nightwood Theatre, Write from the Hip). She can be heard in The Novena Sisters for CBC Radio and seen in the Independent film Calogero (Mexican Monster Productions). Melissa is a member of the BASH Artist’s unit at CanStage.

Most Recently Melissa produced and starred in the Fringe hit Lupe:Undone, which was named Best of the Fringe and held over at the Diesel Playhouse. She followed that success with a sold out run of A Very Lupe Christmas. Melissa produces an ongoing web series with the title character Lupe called The Lupe Show, www.thelupeshow.com

Upcoming projects include a staging of Lupe: Undone at the UNO Festival in Victoria B.C. and at the Festival of Ideas and Creation for the Canadian Stage Company (CanStage).

When not performing or creating original pieces Melissa works as a teacher and coach around the city most notably at: University of Toronto, The Toronto Film School, Learning through the Arts (RCM), The Children’s Peace Theatre, and as a mentor with The A.M.Y Project and Theatre Revolve.
