 Ruth is a Toronto based actor and director and co-founder of Les Vaches; The ecstatics, Jekyll and STEM. Acting credits include Kate in Old Times (Neptune Theatre), Ruth Berlau in Bebe (Theatre Asylum/Theatre Centre), Paula Price in City for Sale (VideoCabaret), Ruth in STEM (Buddies in Bad Times Theatre/Les Vaches/House of Slacks), The Proprietrix in Peep-show (Buddies in Bad Times Theatre), Puck in A Midsummer Night's Dream (Theatre Passe Muraille), Lady Macbeth in Macbeth (Hurly-burly theatre) and Evelyn Dick in How could you Mrs. Dick? (Theatre Aquarius). Directing credits include Antony and Cleopatra (Shakespeare in the Rough), The Lab (Theatre SKAM), Dreary and Izzy (Native Earth Performing Arts), The Least Noble of Creatures (Femfest/Winnipeg); Duel at Dawn (LKTYP); Pasque Flower (Shaw Festival ) and The Guilty Playroom (Rhubarb! Festival). Assistant Director credits include The Constant Wife and The Autumn Garden (Shaw Festival); As you like it (Canadian Stage); Finding Regina and The Danish Play (Nightwood Theatre). Ruth was the 2005 Intern Director at the Shaw Festival and participated in the inaugural Siminovitch Directing Master Class with Daniel Brooks. She was on the Toronto Arts Council Theatre Committee from 2002-2005 and won the 1999 K.M. Hunter Emerging Theatre Artist award. Upcoming,The Drawer Boy (Theatre Passe Muraille) and A Nanking Winter (Nightwood Theatre). She is a graduate of the acting program at the National Theatre School of Canada.
